The most popular times to elope in Breckenridge are between mid-June to late-September, since it has the warmest temperatures and the most location options for you! But keep in mind those are the busiest times to be in town.

1. sapphire point

Sapphire Point is a jaw-dropping overlook with panoramic views of Dillon Reservoir and the surrounding mountains. It's an intimate and popular spot for elopements, offering a natural beauty all year around.

There are a few things that make Sapphire Point a great choice for your wedding. It’s only a 15-minute drive from downtown Breckenridge. The path to the ceremony site is just under 0.2 miles from the parking lot, which makes it easily accessible. It is also one of the few locations that allow you to bring in chairs or an arch for your ceremony. It’s also dog-friendly!

Because Sapphire Point is on a popular hiking trail, there will likely be other visitors nearby, but we find that they are usually very respectful.

The three-hour permit costs $128, and can easily be reserved online. Permits for Sapphire Point open up exactly six months in advance at 8:00 am Mountain Time. We recommend getting yours as soon as you can, as it’s a popular site and books up quickly!

Another easily accessible ceremony site with gorgeous views, that allows dogs is the Marina Park Pavilion. This site sits just above Lake Dillon (just across the lake from Sapphire Point Overlook) and includes a lawn for your ceremony as well as full access to the picnic pavilion. If you have any children attending your elopement, they will enjoy the playground that’s right next to the pavilion. When renting the Marina Park Pavilion, you have the choice of a full-day or half-day rental (morning or evening), with rental costs varying by day of the week and time of year. Reservations are only available from May 1st until September 30th, with reservations becoming available on the first business day in May of the current year.

3. Windy Point

Windy Point Campground is a nature lover's haven. Perched at a lofty elevation, the campground offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Rocky Mountains and the pristine Dillon Reservoir.
